Dental Prosthetics

If tooth loss has already occurred or if the lack of tooth material is so great that it can no longer be corrected with a filling, it may become necessary to make dental prosthetics. Below, we try to summarize a few general categories without claiming to be complete, while at the same time helping our patients understand the options.

Fixed dentures

Crowns and bridges. Preparation of the existing teeth for wearing the replacement. All this tailored to your needs: You can choose from several types of materials depending on your preferences, which can be metal-free or metal-ceramic. We also help you choose the right tooth color and tooth shape. If required, we provide the opportunity for a personal meeting with our dental technicians so that the individual characteristics and color transitions of the teeth can be selected together during the work process in order to achieve maximum aesthetics

Removable dentures

If it is no longer possible to make a fully fixed restoration due to the number or location of the available teeth, removable dental restorations (which can be of different types) are considered as a therapeutic option

Partial removable denture: In the case of partial tooth loss, the patient has a tooth in his mouth that can be used in some way for anchoring, thereby promoting a more stable fixation.

Complete removable denture: In this case, the existing tooth is no longer in the oral cavity.

Whichever category becomes necessary, you can choose from several types in our office. You have the option of choosing hidden anchorage devices, so that the removable dentures are not visible when you smile. You can choose the tooth color you like. You can choose a transparent palate part, partially transparent artificial gums, metal mesh reinforcement in order to reduce the risk of fracture. In the case of lower restorations, the incorporation of a weight booster helps to keep the prosthesis more securely in place.

Implant-anchored dentures
Both fixed and removable dentures can be made by placing an implant. Which one is used in which case depends on the situation. In general, it can be said that with their help, the stability of the planned denture is greatly improved.

Temporary dentures

This category includes the dental restorations that the patient wears until the final restoration is completed, thus restoring the aesthetics and protecting the prepared teeth from painful stimuli present in the oral cavity (consuming too cold or too hot food and drinks, breathing through the mouth ). They also restore the chewing function to a certain extent, and prevent the migration of the teeth, if more time elapses between the preparation and the completion of the final restoration. (Due to recovery period i.e)

When do temporary dentures become necessary?

After planned interventions (preparation of teeth/tooth extraction) or
quick replacement of a tooth lost as a result of an accident.
